I have a four-panel comic strip scenario running through my mind, but due to injury, my hands and wrists would not be strong enough to do the artwork. So I'll describe it.

Title: "You can always talk to me about anything!"

Panel one: Child confides in parent about a problem. Parent scolds and lectures. "What are you even complaining about? You think YOU have it tough? Here's everything *I* have to deal with."

Panel two: Child's feelings are hurt because another person said or did something unkind. Parent questions and grills. "Honey, I can't imagine anybody would just treat you that way for no reason. Are you sure you didn't do something to provoke them?"

Panel three: Child shyly confesses to having a crush on a classmate. Parent begins teasing and digging relentlessly. Won't stop even though Child is visibly embarrassed. Takes every future opportunity to mention Classmate's name, and speaks it with an exaggeratedly syrupy tone. "Wouldn't you like to ask Claaaaassmate to be your partner for that project?"

Panel four: Parent is alone and lonely. "Child never comes and talks to me about anything. I just can't figure out why!"
