Hi all ~ Recently I was diagnosed with COPD, and put on the rescue inhaler as well as the Advair diskus. I'm also a spinal pain patient, and have been a chronic painer for 26 years due to this. I've had 3 spinal surgeries that didn't work, that have caused severe pain.

Well these darn COPD inhalers cause BONE PAIN. I didn't know this until I'd been on them for 10 days. My doc gave me samples to try and wouldnt' you think HE would know whether or not he should be giving me these darn things? I've been in AGONY.

I checked with my pharmacist about these, and he told me they caused bone pain, and I also looked them up on the FDA web site, and it said the same thing! Then I looked at the inserts that came with the inhalers and those said the same thing. I mean DUH. What is wrong with him??? LOL He's usually a GREAT doc, but good grief!

Has anyone else had trouble with these meds or am I out here by myself?

Hugs, Lee

Leed, I've never noticed bone pain when I use Advair or my inhaler, but then I'm usually so *danged* miserable by the time I start using them I'm not sure if I would notice the pain. There are tons of different inhalers out there. I hope he finds one that works AND doesn't make you hurt.

Thanks so much Lizard Lady. I went to the doc's yesterday, and we decided not to use the inhalers anymore because I actually hand to have help walking for several days after I quit using these darn things cause the pain was so bad! It has eased up now, and I'm almost "normal" so obviously it was the inhalers like the pharmacy said. I'm doing ok without them, but I may just use the rescue inhaler if I have trouble. Boy that was awful!

Thanks again LizardLady! I appreciate your help. Hugs, Lee
