I am on 4 10mg Percocets and 2 20mg Kadians per day. It is working great on my spinal pain but I also take meds for a mental health condition and the combo makes me drowsy and unmotivated all day. I don't abuse my meds and don't run out early but I want to back off slowly so I don't feel sick. I was thinking of starting with cutting out 1 Percocet a day. What do ya think?

You would speak to the doctor before you started to take more than what was originally prescribed correct? It goes both ways......you should consult with the doctor even when deciding to decrease the dosage of your medication. Your doctor is assuming that you are taking your medications exactly as prescribed, and you should be abiding by that assumtion. please speak with the doctor before changing anything pertaining to your medications. Good Luck,
sean

I am taking about reducing not taking more. The Percocet is for break through pain so reducing it is not going against the treatment plan. I think I may start even slower with reducing 1/2 a Percocet. If I tell my doctor it may get reduced for good and I may end up needing the full dose for pain. I have to try it first.

I would definitely talk to my doc about a weaning schedule --- withdrawals are AWFUL, believe me. I've had them and it feels like you're going to crawl out of your skin.

Reducing 10mg per day MIGHT be a little too much. Everyone is different. But for me, 10mg per day was MUCH TOO MUCH. That's way too fast a reduction!!! It would be better to reduce MUCH slower, believe me. Ask your doc to give you a weaning schedule. If he won't, contact me. I can help. God bless and please take care. Hugs, Lee
