Tramadol isn't a "long-acting" medication, is it? I mean, it doesn't last for 8 hours, does it?

It seems to me that's what you need -- a long-acting medication. Something such as Ms Contin, or what i'm on, which is OpanaER and it works GREAT. I've been on it for some time now, and it really works well. Of course I'm NOT pain-free and I never will be. I also have severe spinal issues too, so I'm always going to have pain. Plus I have osteoarthritis, along with Fibro. But the OpanaER works the best of anything I've been on, and I've been on LOTS of different meds. Tramadol gives me a migraine!!!

So ask your doctor about a long-acting medication -- something that will work for at least 8 hours. I hope he'll do it for you. Best of luck & God bless. Hugs, Lee

I'm not sure who originally posted this thread, but I was wondering how people came to the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. I've read up on it, and have most of the symptoms, but none of my drs have ever mentioned it. I dont want to "self-diagnose", but i want to feel better! I am seeing a neurologist in a few months, I guess he might know. Good luck to u guys, feel better!

Hi Red Bandit -- There are "pressure points" and I think there are about 15 of them, that when pushed, cause pain. They are located all over the body. If you "google" Fibromyalgia you'll find various sites and I'm sure one of them will have a picture of the body with these pressure points. That's how most doctors diagnose Fibro.

I don't know who started this thread -- I was answering someone, but THEIR post disappeared!!! Personally i don't care about Tramadol.

Take care & God bless. Hugs, Lee
