Surely someone out there is in my position and can give me some advice.
I have an Anthem insurance plan, and it covers all my meds and much more. They don't give me a hassle either. The problem is that as of April, its going to cost me $800 out of pocket a month to keep it. I can't find another policy or medicaid that will cover what I need, but I don't make that much in a month. Pain keeps me out of work most of the time, (thank God I work for myself), or I'd be fired. If I drop the policy, I can't get it back if I don't like the new one. Because I had this plan for years, I was grandfathered in when Obama care started. My meds and all the bloodwork and urine screens will cost me about twice the premium cost if I don't have it. Right now I'm on several medications, rarely able to work, the pain management clinic requires blood or urine and blood for another med from my M.D. If I wasn't living with friends, I would be on the street. Dropping the meds is not an option. i'd be completely non functional. Does anyone have any knowledge of decent, lower premium policies that cover all that? I see others come out of the pain clinic with tons of meds that look like they are on welfare. I don't know how they do it. Sam2 |

It's possible those you see coming out with tons of meds have applied for and received medications at a free or reduced price.
I get 3 meds for free from the manufacturer, they are Cymbalta, Insulin and Lyrica. The other meds I'm on are on the $4-10 list at Wal-Mart. You can ask your pcp or any doctor/clinic about applying for prescription assistance. ![]() |
