Ive had unexplained chronic pain for 4 yrs thats progressing. I finally found a great surgeon that found a hernia but he had me get a ct scan with contrast. My results show a ovarian cyst :,( i have no idea how big it is.. He says a few centimeters.. Ive had sharp pain on my lower right quadrant, back pain, barely can walk without pain, gaining weight and noticing im getting reallly tired .. Is this normal?
I have an appt to get a referral for a ultrasound.
Its been an emotional rollercoaster.. How long after the ultrasound do i possibly get my relief of surgery?

It hurts alot :,( i cant waiit to be out of pain .. I dnt knw wht normal is like im use to it but the pain is getting worse:,,,(

Looking forward to being out of pain and losing a ton of weight .. Stop looking pregnant and when i am be happy its a baby to look forward to .. Not a stupid cyst:,(

I found out that I also have an ovarian cyst that causes me a lot of pain. I am on pain meds daily to control the pain and they haven't even thought about surgery yet. My cyst is about the size of a baseball. I have to wait until I start my period to have my next ultrasound. This is the second one I have had. The first one was on the left, this one is on the right. I like you cannot wait to be out of pain, however surgery might not be the best option.

Are you on birth control? That is something my OBGYN suggested putting me on it. It helps regulate the hormones that cause the cysts to form. It is also possible that you have something called polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Birth control will also help that. I hate the thought of adding another pill to my daily regimen.

In answer to your questions, it is going to depend on the type of cyst and how large it is if you have surgery. Your pain doesn't sound 'normal' and at the same time, it does. When I am having a flare up I can hardly walk and am doubled over. If it gets too intense go to the ER, they can do ultrasounds there. I wish you the best.
