Hello, I was wondering if anyone has Interstitial Cystitis or similar chronic bladder conditions. After about 2 and a half to 3 years of symptoms I was diagnosed about 3 months ago or so. It feels good to have a diagnosis finally, however I am still of course suffering from the condition. I was recently prescribed Uribel and am going back to the urogynecologist in a month. I am also staying on a strict IC friendly diet because of a flare up that seems to be happening, most likely because of a pelvic exam I had last week, and an upcoming period. I wanted to know what works for others regarding flare ups and just regular maintenance of IC or chronic bladder pain.

Hello cactus_tree : I cannot respond to your concern. However, I see this was your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

One thought here, with regard to your concern. Are you familiar with PsychCentral's sister-website: NeuroTalk? NeuroTalk is a more medically oriented website. And, although your concern here isn't neurological, it may be more likely you will find some individuals on NeuroTalk who have had experience with this. Just a thought... You might also consider reposting this in the Women's support forum here on PC.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

Hello, Cactus_tree, and welcome to Psych Central! I'm sorry you are going through this. I hear it's quite a challenge.

I have not been diagnosed but something is going on with my bladder. I'll learn what I can about it and get back to you.

Have you seen this info from the Mayo Clinic, a reliable source? http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-c...t/con-20022439

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
