I know I'm not the only person who thinks this (I'm sure at some point it's crossed all our minds)
but this pain makes me feel really really old. makes me feel sad really- in reality I'm not that old at all, but this body.. I think it's time to trade it in |

Well... I AM old! So my own chronic pain simply reminds me of how old I really am. Actually though, as I've aged, some of my chronic pain has lessened. And what hasn't lessened has become so familiar I don't really think much about it anymore for the most part.
So perhaps that's something to look forward to? As you really do get older (as opposed to just feeling old) perhaps you'll find your own chronic pain will lessen; or if not at least it may become more comfortable... sort-of like an old shoe that never really fit all that well but that you've worn for so many years you've just gotten used to it. I wish you well... __________________ "I may be older but I am not wise / I'm still a child's grown-up disguise / and I never can tell you what you want to know / You will find out as you go." i'm a firm believer in avoiding things that cause me pain; treating the pain with anything that works (and is legal) when i have to; and ignoring it when i must...
hope you have a decent Forth~ __________________ AWAKEN~! |

I think that's good advice, and a good reminder. I tend to just forget the impact it has... like I'll do something that I know triggers the pain, because I simply don't think and don't realise the aftermath until it's actually happened next time though, I'll be thinking "if this was Gus, what would he do?" |

I am really old physically and way too young emotionally. I just do the best I can with what I have. I mess up sometimes but I learn or am reminded of something. I just keep doing the next thing. Sigh.

My pain came first, then depression and anxiety. It all has made me old. That's just the reality of this life. I'm not saying 'I give up.' I am saying I have to endure, and rise above.

Yeah. I have to start handling it better. I could be handling it much worse, but i could also be pushing just a LITTLE harder, i GUESS!
I mean, i seem to be tolerating the ibuprophen okay, no stomach upset, and i could be more diligent about wrapping my knee, and those things might help me get more chores done so i can move on to the next phase. This thread helps. Thanks. |

This is inspirational for me. Thank you! Yes, my pain came first. Then depression and severe anxiety. I don't want to accept the reality but I have to. It's hard to get through the day. How do you cope?

Yes, 830 if not earlier. Fruit as a treat.

I used to go to bed at midnight..... until 8 months ago when I developed this condition. Now I'm tired at about 8 but if I go to sleep then, I'm up at 2a.m. for the day! Pain makes it hard to sleep although I'm exhausted. I'm sorry you're suffering too, sarahgeo.

Yeah... old man in a relatively young body here. Everything hurts all the time and to say that it has added to the stress that my MI's cause me in understating it in the extreme, but somehow I keep chugging along. Those bills aren't going to pay themselves.

it can be such a challenge to keep going and to have hope when suffering so w/chronic pain.
I hope we can each/all hang in there and try to stay hopeful there will come a day we are much more comfortable in our own skin. Love to All! WC __________________ May we each fully claim the courage to live from our hearts, to allow Love, Faith and Hope to enLighten our paths. |
