I have a ruptured disc in my low back that impinges on the sciatic nerve. So I have the sciatica down my left leg as well as some discomfort down the right leg as well.

thanks for your reply. it's interesting you don't notice any changes with the weather. that's 1 of the first things I notice (and I can't bend down, getting up is virtually impossible!) |

My problem is classic rheumatism. When the humidity starts to rise as the barometer starts to fall it is most uncomfortable, and it hurts all over more than anywhere else. One of my old cowboy friends says just pour some more whiskey on it and it'll quit after a while..... and if it don't and ya run out'a whiskey, just knock yourself in the head with the bottle. That usually works ever-time

Pain is worse in the winter. The cold and damp together intensifies my chronic pain.

Much worse when colder ...
Also when a low pressure system is moving through the area. ![]() |

Definitely when it is colder, but also when it drops in temperature quite suddenly.

Fibro here. Definitely worst in the cold, but too hot and I'm worse off too. I've always had a hard time with direct heat and sun, but since my fibro has started to intensify over the last few years, both heat and cold make me want to curl up into a little ball.

It's actually my husband who has the chronic pain (CRPS - chronic regional pain syndrome), so I didn't answer the poll for him, but yes, weather definitely affects his pain. Cold causes achiness. Heat causes swelling. Constant battle.

Rheumatism; dropping barometer, rising humidity. Instant pain. My old bones hurt so bad I can't stand to be in my own skin. Ol' cowboy told me to get a big bottle of whiskey and drink it, when it's empty if you still hurt use the bottle to knock yourself in the head and get some sleep. Works every-time.

I live in the upper midwest my back pain is worst in the winter. Severe pain when the barometric pressure goes up or down. Also increased pain when changing from winter to spring and six weeks of bad pain when going from fall to winter.

Cold weather and change in barometric pressure (up or down) increases pain.
I love the old cowboy's suggestion! |
