So, since 10 of 2017- this past september I have had 5 surgeries. Carpal tunnel on both hands 6 weeks a part. CMC joint replacement surgery of my right hand, rotator cuff of right shoulder, arthoscopic surgery (shaving, impingement and cleaning) of left shoulder. Oh and in August I jammed my middle finger and its still not right. I go back for my left shoulder follow up on the 29th. My right shoulder has been hurting alot. Not since the left shoulder surgery but before. Its more centered on my bicep and where it meets the shoulder. My thumb joint is also a problem. Weak grip, pain. And the middle finger has a bump on the side of it. I plan on slipping this all in on the follow up because the left shoulder is great. No pain and I will probably get discharged from pt on monday. Are there complications that are known with these surgeries? I am going to ask for a steroid shot in the cmc joint for pain purposed but what do I do with the right shoulder? Ignore it? Is it in my head? Anyone experience this?

Dang! You have been through the mill surgery wise.
When someone has multiple surgeries over a relative short amount of time like in your case, your body can go into overdrive trying to regulate the inflammation levels that having a surgery cause anywhere in the body. I’d certainly have my list in hand for that follow up. I’m thinking steroid injections would be helpful, I have trouble with steroid injections or oral dose due to my Bipolar. It’s a tricky balancing act. The only other thing I can say if it’s possible to drink 8 Oz of warm water a day with half a fresh squeezed lemon daily, it helps balance out the bodies acid levels, and can help calm the inflammation. ![]()
