how are you at getting to sleep with your chronic pain?
with me, I also have imsomnia so it is virtually impossible. it's one thing to be an imsomniac, it's another to be in agony while trying to relax. I've even been told by doctors that they really don't know what they can give me to sleep, because nothing is working- my imsomnia is really bad so what about you. how do you sleep with your pain? |

I sometimes have trouble sleeping because of pain, rv. I sometimes get up and take more pain meds or I just get up and try to distract myself. It seems like the pain often gets worse when I lie down to sleep.
I already take a prescription pain med (Hydrocodone) and supplement it with more tylenol. I'm not supposed to take NSAIDs, but I sometimes resort to one of those, too. Sigh. I hope you fin d what helps you. |

Our pain get drastically better the second we lie down. We actually look forward to the end of the day and getting in bed. Sleeping is another thing altogether.

I have insomnia. I have pain from Fibromyalgia.
The pain I experience gets worse when I lay down. I soak in epson salt afterwards I take either a medical marijuana edible OR a muscle relaxer. My pain will not go away by laying in bed...it actually gets worse if I attempt to not address the pain. I’m allergic to a lot of medications and foods. I was taking Ambien for insomnia and had an allergic reaction. I’m very, very picky about taking medications. __________________ #SpoonieStrong Spoons are a visual representation used as a unit of measure to quantify how much energy individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses have throughout a given day. 1). I am sorry about your pain. honestly, for me, it's got to the point where I don't even try anymore. I mean: I'm not going to sleep, what's the ****ing point of it. the days I do try I get rewarded with extreme agony. so |

The muscle relaxer is the same way. 🙃 I told my rheumatology specialist and primary care providers that my pain usually starts on my left side. Afterwards it begins to increase in severity and pain will start on my right side, back, shoulders and torso. Back in 2013 prior to begin correctly diagnosed (Fibromyalgia). I had pain real bad and the primary care provider I had gave me a cortisol injection. The pain from that injection 😬😑 __________________ #SpoonieStrong Spoons are a visual representation used as a unit of measure to quantify how much energy individuals with disabilities and chronic illnesses have throughout a given day. 1). I take a pain pill (Percocet) at bed time and usually get to sleep pretty quickly. There is a night every week or two where it keeps me awake and the only thing I can do is get up for a while, then go back to bed. Sometimes I won't go back to bed until 6am.

I am an insomniac, so I do not not ever get ideal sleep. My pain affects my quality of sleep, but I do usually get some. I avoid causing the painful areas to hurt more than they normally do by avoiding certain movements. When the pain is severe, I do not sleep. My personal worst is about for 30 days averaging about 15 minutes of sleep every night. OTC such as melatonin, diphenhydramine, aspirin, only increase sleep duration and quality for a short term, until I stop and so am not used to them and then go back on them.

Day two of 50mg Zinc supplementation. It lessens the pain of my bad areas, and also seems to lessen the pain of knowing I'm in pain. Tried zinc many years back, felt a big improvement, then I ran out and figured I only improved so much because I had a one time zinc deficiency. Also felt if I felt as bad as I normally do, I'd go on it again, but underestimated how unwilling I become to do things when I'm in my usual amount of pain, and I forgot about it or put it off for years. I got back on it again, and same thing.
Zinc is also being given substantial like never before attention for treating depression by researchers, I have read. |

If having pain such as a headache or TMJ symptoms or sinus headache, it can help when I take Tylenol or ibuprofen and NyQuil or Benadryl.

I sometimes take chamomile with CALM (magnesium) drink. Other times I just take 81 mg chewable aspirin with extra strength coated Tylenol. Other times I'll take melatonin 6 mg with chamomile tea and a Tylenol. I've not yet tried my Tylenol PM (alone, no other supplements), but I plan to try that today. I'm in pain as we speak, and I forgot if I ever slept at all.

I typically take 3-4 excedrin migraine tablets and it will help me sleep for maybe 2-4 hours depending on what phase I’m in not sleeping. Typically 5-6 days I only sleep a few hours a night then it catches up to me and I’ll sleep 6-7 hours one night a week. Then it all starts again.
