Lots of pain

All i've done today so far is shower (agony), and move a bin (also agony)

Enough is enough

I know I always say I feel old, but It's even more true today than usual.

Today's Report: Horrible pain around both scapulas. Slept on heating pad most of the night but didn't help. The pain was giving me nausea so I didn't take a Tramadol since Tramadol also makes me feel sick to my stomach.

Good grief those are horribly low temps for where you are! Predictions for here are near or below freezing for lows and highs in the 40s or 50s. I know those temps don't sound bad for folks up north. My area is subtropical. Freezing temps can be a disaster.

Am anticipating pain. Plan to keep a fire in the fireplace and curl up under my heated throw.

Pflower, I've been thinking of you lately. My poor orchids are confused by the strange weather we had here the last few months. Some think it is spring and are blooming! A couple of them are making baby plants! I wish I could give you one.

Going to bring them inside today ahead of the wicked weather that's coming.

Betty just dropped one bloom, has produced another right behind that one, and one bud is waiting in the wings! It musta been the year for orchids!

I agree 100%. I feel miserable in cold weather. I had to go to the store today to get de-icer. It's 20° out and my my back is stiff and stinging from neck to tailbone. Sometimes it's difficult for people to understand why I dislike winter so much.

I had to venture out today in 20° weather. The wind was horrible. I also have Raynaud's Syndrome so my hands were aching and turning white, even with heavy gloves on. I was so tense when I got home I could feel fibro tingling down my spine. I stood in the shower for about 20 minutes to warm up. I think right now I pretty much feel sad about it all.

How are you doing in this gawd awful weather fibro friends? Change in barometric pressure when the front moved through triggered a flare. E I have been holed up in the house avoiding the cold weather. I scurry out to the barn to feed the horse, make sure plants are still covered, grab an armload of wood for the fireplace an get back inside.

I've been thinking about you a lot lately pflower. My poor orchids are sooooo confused by this screwy weather. I brought them inside before Christmas. More than half of them are blooming or putting out buds. A couple of them are sprouting little baby plants. Wish I could send you one of the babies.

Speaking of confused plants, I'm about to have a golden carpet of daffodils in the little garden space in front of my cottage. Thankfully they are sheltered enough that they will be protected if it freezes again once they bloom.

Betty (the orchid) gave me one last bloom towards the end of December and it has just now withered away. There are no other buds waiting in the wings so I think she's finished for this go round. She's not looking too hot right now, and I'm hoping that she hasn't literally bloomed herself to death (if that's possible), but boy oh boy, what a show she gave me all of last year!

I don't remember the brand of the orchid fertilizer I have. It's a generic, good for all kinds of orchids I picked up at Home Depot.

I read a post at another site where someone was venting about a friend with CFS forgetting to call the poster. She said the CFS person was just making an excuse. I would have gotten po'ed but don't have energy to get mad. This was my reply.

have chronic fatigue. As others said, it comes with brain fog. It is horrible to live with. I forget words. Not the everyday word-on-the-tip-of-the-tongue. I'm talking being in the middle of a sentence and forget what the heck I'm talking about.

Yeah, there are tricks and tips we can use to help, but they don't always work.

It's funny you mention remembering to shower. There are days I have to literally retrace my steps to know whether or not I showered. There are days I have to check the shower floor for suds - while I'm in the shower (!) - check whether I washed my hair.

Those of us with this disorder struggle to make it through the day. There are days it takes all I've got just to drag my arse out of bed. People with attitudes like yours just beat me down. It's not like enjoy being this way. It's not like I do it to "get" other people.

If you want to be a friend to this other person ask what you can do to help. Educate yourself about her disorder. Understand she may forget things. It's not personally directed at you.
