My knees only hurt when I get up after sitting (or sometimes at night when I get up to pee). I have to limp for a bit and then they're okay. They use to be really weak and have other problems so other things were hard (one knee wouldn't lift, I could only step-over from the right side because my left knee wouldn't lift) but that's better as I've been walking about a mile a day and have lost 35 pounds.
But I'm at a loss as to how to work on fixing the only-hurts-after-sitting. Doesn't matter too much how long I sit, doesn't hurt when I sit, has gotten a little less intense with the exercise and weight loss, maybe I'll just keep that up and see if it eventually gets better. My doctor was no help and I don't know that I want to do all the testing and crap like that. I guess I'll just add squats to my walking and maybe figure out a way to keep my legs moving (a little hard with heavy board and laptop on my lap, my legs extended onto footstool or on the floor to make a level workspace).

Hi, I read your difficulties with your knees have you taken anything for them besides pain relivers? You may want to try "Glucosmine Chondroitin MSM" this is an herb which can be bought at most herbal stores. I deal with (RA) Rheumatoid Arthritis and also Ostio Arthritis in the knees and this does help. I also have heard staying hydrated (full of water) also helps. I hope this help your knees.
