Wish me luck!

I was told NOT to take my anti inflammatories tomorrow, or any type of pain med, as they want to see everything in as natural a state as possible. This means im probably going to be in a decent amount of pain. But i am really excited!(imagine that - excited to be stuck inside a tunnel with motors whirring around me for an hour or more LOL)

Its at 5pm, so i wont be back until late, but when I get back i will tell you all how it went, though i wont have results for some time.

Good luck with that!

Not sure what you're having done, but a CT (or CAT as it's sometimes known) normally only takes like 10mins max.

An MRI on the other hand could take an hour or so.

The visual difference is that a CT is just like a ring, and only about a foot deep, MRI is a tunnel. Also you'll have to go through metal safety checks for MRI but not CT.

Anyway, whatever it is, hope it goes well!

Hi guys!

Sorry, CFS, Fibro, memory sucks. Forgot about the thread.

Results today! I have a bulging/herniated disc in the very lowest lumbar vertabrae! EXACTLY what ive thought for two years now.

My doctor kind of peeved me off. He said it was concerning because you dont normally see it in someone this young(well, no crap? lol). Its probably because of the two curves in my spine(scoliosis and kyphosis - both mild, but aggravating). he said I need to do back excersizes, rest, gave me a list of things not to do. he said it doesnt require any special treatment. Now this part I GROSSLY disagree with. He was not willing to do any injections, surgery, or any other real treatment. Oh, he did tell me to lose 100 pounds(ill get right on that, because um, I cant walk or excersize for the pain so how am i going to lose weight?)

anyways. what im going to do is ask for a copy of the report and go to my female GP that delivered jeremy, she is awesome. She will know better what to do and i just want a second opinion. Personally im not keen on surgery but honestly if it can just be fixed and i can get on with my life, all the better.

So im back on pain medications and told to excersize. For now.

I agree, you should get another opinion.

What your doctor said about loosing weight is true, it would help. But I'm not doubting for a second how much pain you in that will stop you. I can say from personal experience though (I also have fibro and other joint conditions) that light exercise, just a little everyday or everyother day does help with fibro. Try something like swimming, aquarobics or walking if you can. The only other thing you can do is look at your diet, I can't comment as I don't know what yours is like. But if you make it clear you are trying, or as to see a nutritionist if you don't know what to do at least then they can see you aren't ignoring their recommendations.
