Oh yes, Troy. I remember when this song came out in Oz. The first time I heard it, I was in a pub and people were roaring out the lyrics around me, raising beer glasses to our returned and fallen. Very moving and powerful song when I had the chance to listen to the lyrics properly. I think this was the first song that truly addressed the issues that returned military face.

That is the thing here. It matters little where you are, when a song like that comes out or even as a child, we were taught songs that spoke of suffering, hope and camaraderie in war. And even Waltzing Matilda is sung on ANZAC Day.

Thank you for bringing that song to bear again. It is definitely an Aussie anthem to our military who served in the Vietnam war. You will even hear of our current soldiers singing it now.

Big hugs,

Michah
