Well I have seen my phyciatrist twice. I have an appointment with her later. Now I saw my phycologist once and we scheduled an appointment for aug but now it is cancelled. Is this a normal process? Do I need to reschedule or will the V A ? Thanks 6gunner

Ditto on keeping at it and ditto on documenting everything...no matter how small it seems, document it.
Names, dates, the time of calls you made/calls returned/how long it took to return your calls. Everything.
One of my buds had a stack of paperwork about 18" high just because he was determined not to give them the satisfaction of giving up. He got 100%.

It took a few years, a lot of dogging 'em, some anger/few tears, but I got mine, too.
Somewhere within those years my attitude morphed into accepting it was a different battle, but one that I could...no, would win.
My expectations of them helping me evaporated but they were replaced by accepting offers of help from those who had been there/done that.
It amazed me how safe I felt again. Someone had my back.

In Peace,
Catherine

I have found out that everything in life is a battle......unfortunately, I had to learn how to win battles without military training.....but you have to fight the system when the system IS WRONG.

Keep on them until you get what you need.....august.....that's months away.....no way should you wait that long only to have it cancelled....the want to cancell it in August....then replace it with an appointment NOW.

Keep on them & don't let them win an inch.....you have earned every bit of help you need & they owe it to you.....can't back off or back down or they think they have won.

I take it they will not reschedule so I better call and get a new appointment Right? It's been a couple of weeks since I got the cancellation letter. Thanks again sixgunner

Jme, but yes to giving them a call. You gave them adequate time to follow up.
Please remember to document / document / document.
and that probably sounds like a mantra but it works. Most anyone who has received their full benefits can attest to it's importance.
One of the most important things it do for me was kept my memory straight.
Had I relied on it for who I talked to and when? I wouldn't have gotten far, and that is exactly what happened my first go around.

sixgunner, you'll make it. It may take some time, but you will make it. Try not to be consumed by it, though. Remember to play-laugh-daydream. Take whatever moments of peace you find and enjoy them.
It's really all right for us to find delight in something.

Looking back at my own experience, I realize I was so intent on fighting the bastards that I forgot how to...no, shoved aside many moments that would have given me those "bits and pieces of peace." Those things would have made me stronger and feel less isolated.

We live and learn and pass it on...

In Peace,
Catherine
