May I share?
My brother served in Vietnam (Phu lam?) he was a spec 5 in Army, and for the first 6 months over there he wasn't issued a weapon. He had an armed guard who's duty it was to shoot HIM (my brother) should they become overrun with No Vietnamese.)I was just a teen, and wrote him daily, and he wrote back as often as mail allowed. It was like I was there with him, what he was allowed to write. My younger son has been in Afghanistan and Iraq several times now. (He's career Army.) He was covert 7 years, and I didn't ever hear directly from him most of that time. I contribute his health to God, and to excellent POW training prior to his "adventures" as an Army of one.  However, he is still in...and I know how that helps a soldier, being with his unit through thick and thin, yes?
