it's the first year anniversary of her crossing over, and I just want to remember her with love ********************************************************** tears have dried and some vision is restored aching in my heart, no stabbing pain though 'twas nice to sit in the sun feel the warmth and not dismiss it warmth circled me infused my spirit comforted my soul good memories sneaked into my mind fought them I did it felt like I left the grieving too quickly and was hard-hearted reality? life goes on. period. if a dead one would have you wailing and wringing of the hands they ain't worth longing for... celebrate their lives their gifts were many gifts of love and hugs and belly laughs singing happily off key laughing hysterically while the hut burned down dancing in the light of the stars and of the sun drinking rain water when we could the taste so much better, so damn much better quick looks over the OR table saying, "you can do it." I did it. they did it when my eyes gave them a shot of keep-it-up They kept it up. We gave. We got. Stood together slumped against each other raised hell together all in the name of I-Will-Get-Home We Did Get Home

Thank you Capp ... your words are a gift to me as well!
if a dead one would have you wailing and wringing of the hands they ain't worth longing for... celebrate their lives their gifts were many *******That same day, on the other side of the wire ************* The machine guns stopped firing, the M16s were quiet after their deafening roar -- we caught our breath, grabbed a canteen, and laughed -- with the dead lying all around us, diving for cover when a few more rounds whistled through the air -- fired back, and laughed some more as we lay there side by side in the mud, having to look twice to see whether our friends were dead or alive. Some of us didn't hear the laughter or anything else, for others, the laughter was the last we heard from them before the light left their eyes. [They didn't teach us how to close the eyes of our friends or how to survive after the battles]
