I don't log out, at least not intentionally, though I assume the software eventually logs me out after I go somewhere else. Usually the next time I come here, my cookies log me in transparently without a hitch and I never even see the login screen.

Today was different for some reason, perhaps because I'd run a couple of programs overnight to comb my cookies and stuff for viruses and spybots. When I arrived here, I was directed to the login screen. I realized right after clicking the go-button that I hadn't checked the "Remember me" box but no big deal -- I'd just check it next time.

I proceeded to write a long post to a PC social group. When I went to preview it, the software informed me that I wasn't authorized to post because I wasn't logged in. No big deal, I thought, I'd just log in; but after I did, I didn't get the social group page and the preview of what I was writing. I don't remember what page I did get, but I had to back up (with the browser arrows) to where I'd been. Fortunately my post was all still there. Firefox is good that way; the old Netscape I used to use, often wasn't.

I seem to remember that when I once got logged out while posting to a regular forum, not a social group, the recovery was smoother.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
