I recently started downloading images from Photobucket. So I successfully download the image onto my post and check if it works. Then I look a few hours or few days later and it's gone with just a box(can't remember what it said). Does anyone know why this happens, even though it does appear on the post but later disappears. Thank you!

Now lynn, don't give me a bad time for knowing the answer to this, ok?

When you download and post it, there is a code which refers back to the source. When it is brought up on someone's screen, the source is confirmed and when it is confirmed, if the member's subscription is cancelled, the link is cancelled. So, it doesn't appear. I think this is correct.

Photobucket deletes certain images if they are copyright-protected, pornographic, or otherwise against their policies. They may also delete them after a certain length of time, but I don't know that for sure.

If you take an image from a website without permission, you can be violating copyright laws. Even on "free" graphic sites, many of those images were taken without permission.

Have you opened your own photobucket account? I have found I can't transfer images from photobucket unless I have saved them to my own account first.

Yes, if you wish to keep the photo as yours, you do need to open your own account and save the picture for yourself. That way it will not disappear.

Thanks to everyone who replied so far. I'm not the best at computers so bare with me here. So I wasn't officially registered with an account - I am now. Is that all I need to do or do I need to do someting different while sending the image. Right now I log in, click on the image - then another box comes in on the lower left and I click on 'direct', then right click and another box comes up where I click copy - then I go back to this site and paste it. Usually it appears but then later or days later it's gone leaving a box - which is embarassing.

Do I need to do anything additional or does having my own account fix the problem. Thanks everyone.

Yeah, find the image you want and click 'copy to my album' (or something like that) and then you will have the picture there always to use. If you don't put the image in your album/account then it could get deleted/moved by whoever owns it.
