Hi! Help! When I left click on my smilies, nothing happens. When I click on Chat, a menu drops down, but when I click on any menu item, nothing happens. I have other little gliches also, like being unable to change my mood. The Smilies and Chat problems bother me most as one of my friends on this forum was in crises and wanted to Chat, but I couldn't. I took my computer to the shop and got it cleaned out, but I didn't want to show the repairman my problems in PC, as I didn't want to violate anyone's confidentiality. So these problems remain. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am pretty computer-ignorant, and that may be part of the problem. Thank You in Advance - billieJ

Hi billiej

Have you tried clearing out all your cookies, logging off the computer, then logging back on and connecting to PC? That would be the first thing to do. Hopefully you should be all set once you've done that. Good luck!
Thanks for this!

Thanks for this. I don't know how to clear my cookies on my own, but I did recently take my computer to the shop to have it cleaned out. I don't know what all they did, but I did not show them my problems with PC for confidentiality reasons. The problems that are posted here are no one else's business. When I log off, I get a message that says "all cookies are cleared" or something to that effect. Are there more cookies? I log off and back on all the time and I turn off my computer between sessions. Thank You for your input! I am so computer-ignorant! Nevertheless, I seem to be addicted to PC! billieJ

Hi Billie,

In Internet Explorer, the window that comes up when you open the internet, there is a menu item that says "Tools". Select "Internet Options". A menu will open up. You want to delete all the stuff under browsing history, like temporary internet files, cookies, history, etc. Delete it all. Then close Internet Explorer. What that will do is free up some memory so you will be able to open more stuff.

See if that helps.

Well, I did that, Vickie, or at least I'm pretty sure I did. Still no smilies or chat. I wonder if I need a "Java Reader" or something, or if something in my security system is holding me back? Oh, well, at least I can still pursue my fav hobby of responding to New Posts! That's the main thing. Thank You so much for caring about my problem! billieJ

I learned one thing - when I click on chat and get the drop down menu, nothing happens unless I click on No-Pop-Up Chat, in which case, I get a page telling me that I need a Java Script or that my Java Script may be blocked. Can I download a Java Script? Is it expensive? If it is blocked, how can I unblock it? Thanks and sorry for so many questions. billieJ
