This has been happening for ever but seems to be getting worse lately. I can be typing away & all of a sudden, nothing will be typing.....the flashing line (where the cursor is supposed to be) is there, but the actual cursor isn't. When I bring the cursor back over the flashing line & click on it, then I can start typing again.

Sometimes my cursor floats over some other button also & I can loose a whole post when I hit the backspace. Have always seemed to have this problem with Windows xp....keep hoping with some of their updates that they will fix this problem......wish I knew how to fix it myself.

I have selected a cursor that looks like one of my eskie faces.....so at least I can see most of the time where the cursor is sitting.

Just wondering if others have a similar problem & if there is anything that can be done to make the problem better?

I don't know from XP. I seem to have dodged quite a few problems by staying with 98 SE

Actually, I've noticed that my (plain-vanilla vertical line) cursor is more likely to become invisible in these PC text boxes than at other sites where I've posted. I can always get it back by doing something minor like hitting the spacebar or clicking the mouse, so it hasn't been a big deal for me.

My laptop came with windows xp......think it's really flaky personally....have had more problems with it......what really gets me is when if floats to another place on the page & I loose everything when I hit a key & the whole display goes to where ever the curser was pointing to.......ggrrrrrr!!!!

I also have had it become invisible at times & I have also had it get hung.....where it sits there & runs back I forth in an area of about 3 inches......only think I can do with that is to pull the plug most of the time.....wish they knew how to write good operating systems...sure thing windows xp doesn't qualify as one.
