Why are the calendars not being followed? I signed in this evening for the bipolar and depression support and there was no one there. This is not the first time it has happened to me. Why have the event if no one is going to lead it? If they don't want to lead the group anymore then they should be replaced.

We rely on members to volunteer to lead chats. Sometimes they either forget or get busy or lose interest in the chat, especially if it hasn't been particularly popular or busy in the past.

While we try and keep up-to-date on the calendar with changes in chat times and such, we're not always as good about it as we would like. I apologize for this.

We'll be looking for a new chat coordinator to help us handle the organization efforts of the chat leaders shortly.

Thank you for the response. I am sorry, I was not trying to be mean about it. It is just disappointing when you look forward to something all day and then it doesn't happen.

I understand too,

5 out of the last 6 I have came on to join have not been active.

But I understand the effort and time that is involved in these things and really appreciate all those who put the effort in to keep it going. I also understand that sometimes people cant make it or are not well enough to maintain a chat.

But perhaps a sticky thread for chat announcements and cancellations? I see that some people try to post in the appropriate areas, but maybe a dedicated spot would help?

Just some thoughts,

Oldsoul

Yes, a good idea. But right now, I suspect we don't have the organization to even post to such a forum or thread. And so I'll wait to implement until we have a new chat coordinator in place...
