As the title says, a member tried to reply to my blog but was unable to login.

Any help is appreciated.

Pegasus- Do you have your blog set up so that only subscribers can reply?

My only ideas:
1. log on to your admin panel click on the options tab and under the general section there is a check box marked membership. I think you want that unchecked.
2. Still under options look for the sub-tab marked discussion. check to make sure that all boxes that need to be checked are checked. You definitely need the one that says "allow people to make comments" checked

That's all I can think of right now. Let me know if you need any further clarification or if that doesn't help.

Thanks for your help, I think it is set as you say. Someone has left a comment previously with no problem.

You're right; I can't get there from here. There's no submit button and a weird "abschicken" link where it should be.

Middle of June already! Been busy with work, life and everything else inbetween.
Going to have a bit of a moan here. The British Psychological Society have brought in this Members List and publish it online. You can only access the list if you are a member but I’m still not happy about that. I rang them up and asked them, what about confidentiality? Well, they pointed out that it is written in the rules that they publish a list of members and previously all people had to do was ring up and ask if you were on there. Yes that was fine with me but now it’s published for all to see. They said that only members can see it and only my name and area is published. But what if there was a blip in the system? Anyone could see it! Not really very happy with that at all. Still, whoever it was on the other end of the phone insisted that it is part of the BPS rules that anyone could find out that I’m in the list of members. So it seems, tough luck!
I’m not worried about writing about it here as nobody reads this blog!

Yup; that's what one sees/replies to and then one's reply and that whole box and info can't be submitted, just has the abschicken under it, not even the Home. That would be a neat nick if I didn't already have one

I did do a comment and clicked the (abs)chicken and it did post the comment. Not sure what ImageMagick is. Tried changing the theme and the (abs)chicken was still there. Cluck cluck!

Hoping DocJohn can get rid of the chicken.

I clicked the abschicken and it told me I didn't have the right something or other. Let me go and see what.

Yeah, it's not working. I downloaded the ImageMagick thingy but I have no idea what to do with it so I'll have to wait and see what DocJohn says.

I tried leaving a comment to your latest post, and got the same error message as others have.

I notice that below the comment box it says:

Couldn't find your convert utility. Check that you have ImageMagick installed.

Does that mean that everyone needs that thing to leave a comment? Whatever it is, I am not going to install it. Maybe it would not work with a Macintosh anyway.

Correct. When I finished writing my comment and pressed Submit or whatever, I was taken to another almost-blank page which had the error message.

Pegasus, I tried with your latest blog appearance, and I could not submit a comment; got the usual error code. I did notice that when I went to the latest blog post to comment, it indicated there was one comment, but there was in fact none. Did it register my previous attempt?

OK, maybe not. Just checked and it still says there is one comment; if it registered my first attempt it did not register my second.
