Hi Guy:

Looks like a tables configuartion problem. The hard part is configuring for external data (amazon's table layout). Here is what you need to do. At the top place:

*table> *td valign=top>

RIGHT BEFORE

*table width="100%">

THEN at the end of your header change

*/table> to *table>

NOTE: < replaced by * to display on this page.

That should do it. At least for IE I have not looked in Netscape.

freddy

Thanks very much Freddy, I doubt I would have figured that one out :-)

I have one more question: when I do a search 40 items come up but they are numbered from 10 to 50. Is there a way to limit the number of results? also is there a way to get the results to start at 1 instead of 10?
again thanks very much for your help it was spot on

Hi Again:

Guess I should of spell checked my preceeding post (configuration?). I tried your site again. It looks very nice.

Anyway...

I use the Amazon.com and I am unsure if the UK version is the same. Also, I don't know much at all about CGI (But I can hurt someone with HTML). The ONLY thing that caught my eye in the script that gave reference to a START number was found a few lines below the heading

Amazon.com Search Results:

if ($line =~ /*b>1.<\/b>/) {
$skip = 1;
$m_body = 1;

< replaced with * for display purposes.

1. <--is the number my pages start with. I don't see a point to limit results either at first glance. The CGI gurus are John and BerKa. They may be able to help you. Worst case scenario is that your starting at 10. is being pulled from Amazon.uk and out of your control. See if you find a similar code as the one I placed above in your script and see what number is there. I hope it helps and keep that great looking site going.

freddy

PS (I'm too lazy to run a spell check)
