There are two lines in the oj.cfg file that were supposed to be removed before it was released as a production version, which disallows proper editing of your Open Journal from the control panel. The line is:

$value =~ s/<!--(.|\n)*-->//g; # Remove SSI.
if ($value eq "---") { next PAIR; } # This is used as a default choice for select lists and is ignored

Please delete these lines, which have been removed from the latest version, 2.04. This bug was introduced in the 2.x line and does not affect the 1.x versions. Sorry for the inconvenience.
