We recently had a support request regarding how to subscribe to all new threads so you get an email notice anytime someone replies to the thread.

Go to "My Profile" (first option on the blue menu in the default style).

Click on "Edit My Options" on the left-hand menu.

Scroll down to the box labeled, "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and pick your preferred subscription method.

By default, members do NOT receive any emails when they post a new thread.

Hope this helps!
DocJohn

PS - Please note that, as always, you cannot reply to a thread, post or PM via email. You must always visit the site in order to reply (we still get occasional replies to emails, which come to us instead of the intended recipient).

I'm subscribed by default to every thread I post in. In addition, sometimes I'll subscribe to a thread I've only been reading.

How important is it to limit the number of subscriptions so as not to bog down the system or whatever? I do occasionally purge a few pages of my oldest subscriptions to inactive threads but I hate to risk missing something interesting, so my total number of subscriptions still keeps going up.

A few months ago I asked...

I still don't know the official answer but so far it looks like my total number of subscriptions is not very important. Mine recently reached 250, a record for me, with no obvious ill effects at my end. Since most of those threads hadn't gone anywhere in weeks or months, I've now deleted all but the newest subscriptions.

I am subscribed to 1668 threads!
I guess I should go in and delete some, but I always find something else to do when I'm on here. I've never been very good at housekeeping.

LOL, Darkrunner; at least I hope most of them are "old" so don't notify you anymore, since no one replies to them. Maybe subscriptions should clean themselves, after 30 days with no new replies or something.

Heh. How embarrasing

It appears Fool Zero is more on the ball than I on this one. I went to do it, and found my work already done for me!
How cool is THAT! ha!

Full credit to FZ on this one guys! Check the tutorial area for more info.
Thanks for this!

Hi Rainbowzz, I hope you didn't mind. If you're up for doing any others, go for it! Right now I have no plans for any more myself.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
