Is there something magical about it, other than just having a nice group of friends you can look at and think, "hey I have friends here!" Does it entitle you or the people on the list to special priviedges within our group of friends? I like it just for "hey I have friends here" alone but am wondering if I'm completely under-utilizing it!
Thanks

I use mine mostly to go to my friends' profiles occasionally, see when they were last here and what they've posted recently. It's much faster than finding them in the alphabetical Member List and surer than looking through a bunch of threads for something they've posted.
Also, I confess, sometimes taking a look through my Friends List will remind me of someone I haven't looked in on for way too long. ----------------- I've been known to warn people who ask to friend me, that I have my hands full neglecting the friends I already have. ![]() |

I agree with Fool Zero in that finding your friends is so much easier.
Plus, when I find I have no one I look over and see "my friends" and then I have to adjust my belief and say no, I have friends, I just feel alone. good question Phrick and nice to meet you. ![]() ![]()

I agree as well, it does make it easier to find friends. I do admit that I prefer if people only add me if they have met me and frequently talk to me on the forums, though

I agree with all the reasons above for a friends list. Personally, I can't remember names and match them with people easily, so I use the friends list to help me remember which username a person I've spoken with has. I also often have a lot of trouble just being social with people, so I'm not good at inviting people to be friends either. However, sometimes I try to force myself, just so I can work on that skill.
I also think the very concept of the friends list might be useful for people who are lonely or have low self-esteem. It can be a pick-me-up. |

Don't forget that all your "friends" are designated by a "+" on the "who's online" listing at the bottom of the forum index page .

The thing I hate about the friends list is that the number of people on mine is less than it has been in the past... I just hid my friends list from myself so I don't have to see how many people removed me, it only takes something that small to turn me into a complete mess.
