When considering new forum ideas, please do consider one for legal issues regarding obtaining help and assistance, benefits etc. whether with the "system" or an attorney directly.
Maybe include or make sub-forums with this, SSDI, and finances etc? Day to day practical living issues?

yes. I thought that if I could get accepted for SSDI things would be easier. But it made things instantly much worse because of the medicare insurance in USA. I was cut off from all irl support systems that normal insurance covers, ( in my case it was free of charge insurance from my state) and I availed myself of. Medicare does not cover the therapists or naturopath. And only covers half of the pdoc bill. So I had to instantly stop it all. The good news is that I will not have to worry about snow this winter. I will not have to go anyplace. On the other hand its not good to be agoraphobic, live alone, and have no irl support system. So for me, getting on SSDI took a significant toll on my health and circumstances. Am not sure if the teeny amount of money I get was worth giving up the emotional support I had to get by in life. It also meant giving up most hope. Because thats what therapy and the health care represented to me. Hope.
Sorry if this went off topic. But It did involve SSDI, financial issues and practical living issues. |
