I don't think there's a way to block just 'one' thread, but you can block a forum or a person googley.

Thanks Lynn,
That was my thought. But I thought I would check to see if someone knew some way to do it.

Googley, unfortunately not. You could block the original poster of the thread, but that would only block the posts in the thread created by that poster. Sorry!

Do you mean lock a thread so no one can post in it anymore? Or do you mean you want to block the thread from appearing on your screen?

For the former, I think you can have a thread that you have started locked by a moderator or admin, if you request it.

For the latter, I am not sure. I think there may be a way to "unsubscribe" from certain threads, but I am not sure exactly what that means.

That's only for when you've previously requested to be notified whenever there are new posts to a particular thread. Unsubscribing is what you do to turn off those notifications. I wrote more about subscribing (and unsubscribing) here.

Still very new here, but this is what I've discovered....

If I go into a thread and decide I don't want to see it again or be updated on it, I just use my back button on the browser. If I don't do that, I've discovered that I automatically subscribed - even though I didn't plan to.

Now, if I don't use the back button, I just delete the notifications I receive and ignore the thread if it is in a forum I want to peruse.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
