Why do some Social Groups show the Last Post accurately, while others don't?

I noticed this too.
 One that comes to mind is Music Lovers. Often, the "last post" is shown as being months ago, when it's not the case. Also, it doesn't show the member's name when it happens. Just date/time stamp.

I asked this question months ago, without results.
Here is an example: A Third Place, 09-13-2011 01:48 PM is shown in the list of groups, but when you go to the group, the last post (mine) is Today 12:58 PM.

It's a known bug in the module which unfortunately we don't have a fix for at this time... sorry.
