Hi--is there a way to send the same message to all one's friends besides doing it one by one?

You can send a PM to ten people. Just type their user IDs into the recipient username box with a ; between each ID.

What about VM's though?

To send a VM, you have to be at the profile where it's going to be posted. I suppose you could open eight profiles in eight browser tabs, then go from tab to tab pasting your message into each one and clicking "Post".

Is there a fast way to open multiple profiles?

I think it would be faster to copy the 1st message and then just paste it one by one. For example if you want to send a generic holiday message...I copy the 1st one...then I bring up my 'edit friends' which shows all friends on 1 page. I then go one by one and paste the message...then I press the back arrow and this returns be to the 'edit friends' page and so on.

In the Firefox versions that I'm familiar with, yes; probably in some other browsers too. If you create bookmarks for all your friends' profiles in the same folder, you can ask Firefox to open all the bookmarks in that folder in new tabs.
