Is it possible to get some sort of notification that something new has been posted in the social groups?

One of these: Forums at Psych Central > Social Groups
Thanks for this!

I sure would like to get a notification also. It is easy to get caught up in the forums and forget to check into the social groups to which I've subscribed. A little "ping" via email would really help me!

It really bothered me to sometimes not see a new thread in one of my social groups in a timely manner, just because I'd so often forget to navigate to it(!) Lol. Turns out there's a quick and easier-to-remember way! You can have a notice come up right on your profile page to alert you! (Shows up just under "Subscribed Threads" there.) Because (hopefully! ) I'm not the only person who didn't realize this, here's how to:

Go to the social forum posts page.
Pull down the menu for "Forum Tools" (upper right) and click on "Subscribe to this forum". Et voila!

Leo... I think you can have your notifications set to email as a further step...(in fact, I believe the option comes up after you hit "subscribe to this thread" on the pulldown menu. If that doesn't work, let me know (I don't do the email notifications, so I'm just going from memory on that part. )
Thanks for this!

Innerzone: Thanks. I'm talking about the actual social groups though, not just the social forums. Not all social groups show up on the main page of forums.

I do know that you can subscribe to the threads and a notification of a new post will show up in your emails

This is what I'm talking about: http://forums.psychcentral.com/group.php

Getting notifications when people post on these places.

Thanks for all the input.

Okay, I'm confused. I see updates to Jesus Feet, Christian Women, etc all the time under New Posts.

Not all social groups are big enough to be under social forums on the main page. Which means you don't get updates to those, you have to check them to see if new things have been posted.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
