I like to write lengthy messages and this is driving me crazy. I finish writing all of it, taking me about an hour to come up with it, and I hit send. Instead of sending the message, it tells me to log in. I already am logged in and it logged me out. I log in from there and I proceed on. It telles me that I'm already logged in and that I should click back to the previous window. If I log in again, it tells me the same thing and once I go back to the message, everything I wrote is deleted! An hours worth of writing is all gone! Someone please fix this bug or tell me how to avoid it.
Thanks for this!

hi.
If when you log in you mark the box that says 'remember me' (under where you put your log in information), the system wont log you out. That is also helpful when you play games so that it wont log you out and then it can save your score, or if you spend a long time in chat. I hope this helps.

Googley's solution is probably the easiest one.

The browsers I'm using now (various versions of Firefox) are good at letting me back up to something I was writing. I've even had the power go out for an hour and still been able to recover a post afterwards.

When I was using earlier, more primitive browsers I learned a couple of other ways to avoid losing posts:

1. Before submitting a longish post, save a copy to a file with Windows Notepad or a word processor. You could even write the post in a word processor before submitting it but you wouldn't have easy access to the BB Code formatting tags that way.

2. If you think you may have been logged out, open a Forums page in another window or tab. Once you're sure you're logged in, then go back to your post and submit it.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for posting this Kam$$!. This happens to me, not so much with threads and posts, but a lot with PM's. I will try the above suggestions in the future to see if that helps because trying to be briefer has only gone so far.
Thanks Googley and FooZe!

Thanks everyone. I'm going to start clicking the "remember me" just in case now. I could also copy it and paste it in a new message if necessary. If it takes longer than twenty minutes to type it, copy it.
