Hello,
I was wondering who we should report problems to if there is no moderators on or if the ones who are on haven't been active for a while (and hence may not actually be "on"). Specifically if it is something in chat so we can't just use a button to report it and send it to someone. Is there someone specific we should address it to if no one else is available.
Thanks for this!

I 2nd googley question.

I have had some problems and no one has answered my calls.
Thank goodness it's not often for me but it is horrible when you can't get anyone to come. I had 2 incidents within the last 2 months. It is scary not having anyone there to back me or help someone.

Thanks googley for asking this question.

Thanks for bringing that up, googley!

Whether or not any moderators appear to be online at the time, one of the most helpful things you can do is to save a transcript of the chat. PM a copy to any moderator or administrator with your comments. We'll discuss it and decide what action to take, if any.

Here's something I wrote almost a year ago about saving chat transcripts. I rarely chat so if anything's changed in the meantime, I might very easily have missed it:
When you're in chat, between the big chat box with everyone's replies and the smaller one that you type your replies into, there's a row of controls starting with B, I and U. The icon farthest to the right looks like a sheet of paper with a floppy diskette on it. Clicking on it should open a new little window with the chat transcript in it. The times I've saved transcripts I've highlighted everything, copied and pasted to a PM or a document file. If anyone figures out a better way, please let me know.

We do not nor have we ever had 24/7 staffing here at Psych Central, and that is unlikely to change given the volunteer nature of our moderation team.

The best thing to do if you have a problem in chat and no one to report it to is to simply save a chat transcript of the event, and send it to one of the administrators or super-moderators here. We'll review it and take the necessary action after-the-fact.

If you feel unsafe or unsupported in a specific chat room, leave that chat room if you're not getting help. Chat isn't for everyone in every situation, at every given moment.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
