Personally I didn't see the thread but maybe it was taken down because it was political.

We ask people avoid topics of politics and religion in the community (it's in the guidelines).
This thread was primarily about politics. There are hundreds of online communities where you can talk politics as much as you'd like; we're not one of them. Best, DocJohn

I must have missed something. I thought that thread originated in the "current events" forum and hence, was permissible subject matter. If in fact it started here, I fully understand it's removal, given the rules; at the same time, it might just as easily have been moved to "current events" and allowed to continue...as far as I know there were no personal attacks. Just my two cents, I'm moving on to fairer pastures.

Ummm, except when I post in a thread to answer such questions... then we do allow such discussions to take place.
Even on the current events forum, we really don't want political discussion to take place. We tend to relax the rules when we get closer to an election, but we're not quite there yet. And the Rush piece had nothing to do with the upcoming elections. Best, DocJohn
