can anyone tell me how to alter/ fix my firewall to be able to use the chat room? (it came with the internet connection and i can't figure it out!)

Sure, go to your control panel and look for your firewall icon, click on it, and then select "acceptions" then just add the site to it and you should be able to access it, if that doesn't work then try going to your control panel and selecting network connections and when it pulls up you LAN connection simply right click on it and disable the firewall that should work ok.

i turned the firewall off and tried to connect and this is what happened
Could not connect to psychcentral.com:8080.

Possible reasons include:

- The chat server system at psychcentral.com is temporarily unavailable.

- Your computer is behind a firewall or proxy server. Please ensure that your firewall permits outgoing TCP connections to psychcentral.com on port 8080.

what do i do?

Open a different browser window. Try internet explorer.
