I noticed a couple of things recently about my albums that have me totally mystified. I have two albums; one entitled Vala and the other entitled Magruder. All the pictures in Vala's album (six, I think) are gone as well as the cover picture. Magruder's album still has the cover picture but at least two (maybe three) of the pictures are missing. Would anyone have any idea what happened????

Oh, and on closer inspection just now I noticed that one of the pics in Magruder's album shows up as a second pic next to it, distorted and turned at a different angle!

That is odd. I viewed Magruder's album fine but there are no pictures in Vala's album anymore.

It appears we might have lost some member photos in the member profile albums (which may also explain missing photos in some social groups as well, since if they are gone from a member's profile, they would also disappear throughout the site).

We hope the recent maintenance effort we underwent will prevent this from happening in the future. We recommend that members never use our forums as their sole photo storage medium -- you should always have a copy on your computer.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best,
DocJohn

Things got even odder yesterday. I was looking through those member profile albums and found a pic from Magruder's album there.......but I never posted it. I wonder if all this had anything to do with a video that a PC friend made for me after my Magruder was put to sleep. Either way, Doc John, thank you for your response, the recent maintenance effort, and the suggestion to store a photo copy on my computer. I will do that right away! All my best.......grey

I hope everyone who stores pictures on their computer is also keeping backups somewhere off the computer.. I've been warned that all hard drives fail eventually, I've had it happen to me -- and when I move to another computer, having pictures on CDs makes it real easy to get them onto the new computer if/when I find I need them again.
Thanks for this!

That sounds like a very good idea. I'll check to make sure if my hubby (the computer expert) has already done that. Thanks for the advice FooZe. Appreciate it.......grey
