I have a suggestion ... I'm not sure where the best place to put this would be, but I'd love to see an abbreviations list. Heck, I'll start a topic on it and put a list together if you like.

So many times I read a post and have no clue what the person is talking about. Like today i read a post about CSA. Since I know SA is Sexual Assualt the only thing I could come up with was Criminal Sexual Assualt. Luckily that's not too far off from Child Sexual Abuse, what I'm assuming it is after looking it up in an Abbreviations Dictionary.

There's nothing that makes you feel so excluded as to have to ask what an abbreviation means.

I think there is one, but I don't know where it is. i'll look on the thread "stickies" (hilited in yellow). i'm on a phone, so if it's in a box like the smilies, I can't see it.
ETA (edited to add) do you see a FAQ? there might be an abbr list in there?

Actually I did check the FAQs before I posted this, unfortunatly there isn't anything there. Maybe that would be a good place to put it once you find it?

Thanks for looking into this for me.

Thanks FooZe - that's a huge help. But I'm wondering if we can't add this as a FAQ? I volunteer to combine the list DocJohn had with the ones put in this thread. Just let me know it's possible and I'll get started.

I've often googled and gotten a list of common meanings for abbreviations. An easily accessible list of common acronyms would be wonderful to me--someone not born in the age of texting or twitter. Strangely I've understood most of the medical acronyms, it's the imo & others that puzzle me. Those that are listed on the other list-that Fooze provided, they are the ones I'm lost with. A button under FAQ's that could be pushed to look up any of the acronyms-here or there would be great!
