Hi all,
I have selected the option to view only the forums I partake in, so please excuse this post if such a forum exists. My question is, do we have a forum for people with sensory processing disorders such as these?

Just wondering. I'm bringing this up for the first time because I'm actually just getting diagnosed with this for the first time.

I don't know of much here at forums.psychcentral.com but right next door, at neurotalk.psychcentral.com, should be just the place you're looking for.
Thanks for this!

I was also wondering, could this be added to the drop-down list "Mental Health Concerns" on our profiles?

Just an update...I signed up for NeuroTalk as suggested... While there, I noticed that the forum is mostly for physical medical conditions having to do with the brain, not mental ones such as SPD. I know that this is a common disorder that often coincides with Asperger's/Autism, but it is not the same thing. Could this be a suggested addition to the PC forum?

Sorry if I make too many suggestions.

My son will be 27 next month. He was dx'd with this in 4th grade, it was called Sensory Integration Dysfunction back then. There was Occupational therapy available a couple places in my city but even with ins the co-pays were too expensive.
This was an addition to several other dx's he had already. Was always in spec ed & has struggled as an adult. Refuses all treatments now...

Hope you are able to get the correct dx & therapy for improving.
Take good care.
Thanks for this!
