I would love some support for getting healthy, but there isn't anywhere to go.

I cant answer as to why psych central doesnt have this type of board but taking a guess from what Ive read about why things are set up the way they are in the eating disorder boards...

everyone is different. whats healthy for one person is potentially dangerous for another. for example if an eating disordered person reads a board saying this member did this many sit ups that many miles running and their doctor said it was great and healthy for them, the eating disordered person might think thats what they should do to get their version of healthy.

bottom line we all have to go according to our own treatment providers on what they say is healthy for us, not on what others here think is healthy.

nutrition is the same way we all have our own nutritional requirements some of which can be adversely affected by seeing numbers and how this location thinks a good dietary intake is this much on this nutritional count and that much of this or that much of that, ...

there are eating disordered people here that can end up reading about all kinds of diet plans and all kinds of should be 's and end up in serious trouble if not dead from trying to follow someone elses diet and exercise plans..

thats why this kind of stuff isnt allowed in the eating disorder boards..

thats not to say you cant find that kind of stuff here..

you can start your own social group on most any topic. one of the moderators can tell you how to do that.

You could also probably post in Self-Help and goal setting.

There's the Recipes and Healthy Living forum, as well as the Exercise and Weight Loss one John25 mentioned:

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
