I'me working with the FREE OJ install and after some trials Its Working great. I want to know if there are different access levels ? The multi-access is great for my enviorment but I cant give everyone the ability to Add new users. Is the option anywhere .cfg file or other ?

Hey I was wondering seeing as youve had luck installing, if yod mind sparing me a moment to give me some advice. Ive got it running, but I cant see a console, ie cant post a message or anything, did you have this problem, or do you know what i might be doin wrong..im trying to set this up for a health forum and an arts forum voluntarily but im really struggling..if you can email me please do

Good point. As envisioned, OJ was built to be a one-author journaling system. Multi-users were added after-the-fact, and therefore, the concept of different authentication levels never really entered my mind. The easiest way to disable this functionality is to remove it from the control panel as an option altogether. Look for "Add New User" in the program and remove the link that goes to that option. Bookmark the link in your own browser before deleting it, as this is the link that will give you future access to add new users. Then, find the "print_new_auth" subroutine in the file and add the following line at the beginning of the routine: if ($userid ne "your_user_id_here") { &error("Sorry, you are not authorized to add new users"); } Just substitute your actual user id in the above line inbetween the quotes and you should be all set.
