If we are not supposed to put identifying info in here how come there are so many identifying info questions in the profile ?

Am I being unjustly parinoid?

Not being paranoid at all. Just personal choice if you want to disclose the info.
With all the settings choices you can make your profile page very private.

It's ok to put identifying info if we like, right? But we can also stay completely anonymous if we choose.

BlueInanna, I don't think anyone can be completely anonymous on-line. AtPC mods and admin have access to information like our IPS and e-mail, but you can greatly restrict what information you make visible to other members. For instance, my profile has almost no personal information about me because I don't like sharing that sort of thing.

I don't think so. Like everyone has said...what you put it your profile is up to you.
One thing to stress... do not send emails to other members unless you feel comfortable with the recipient knowing your personal email addy. Sending an email through PC will reveal your own email addy.
Other than that you should be fine.

I, personally, have no problem with people knowing who I am here. I've been on PC for a number of years, and this has never been a problem. I have shared my personal email with a few members in the past, and I have made friends that way. I have also observed that PC is very good about privacy. Things you post here will not show up on an internet search...at least that has been my observation, unlike other forums. That said, there ARE people here who want to, for whatever reason, sheild themselves and their true identities. Just be aware of this.
