I recently had a privacy violation of my account. I would like to change my username. However, I would not like my previous posts to be linked to that user name or give any indication of the change. Can anyone tell me how this works?

You can change your username, you just need it approved by admin. However, all of your prior posts will have the name change. If you a new name and no posts, you need to have your account deleted and start from scratch.

Oops, nevermind. Rhapsody's right. It's a new policy. No name change allowed.

The policy is a little different...

We do allow username changes, but you either need to be (1) a brand new member who just entered in the wrong choice and would like it changed (less than a few posts or just a few days here); or (2) be an established member, but have a fairly good reason for wanting the change (because it will usually be confusing to other members here).

But if you don't want to be associated with your posts, you need to register for a new account and alert me that you're doing so so that I can disable your old account.

DocJohn

How does this work when you genuinely forget your original password?
(And get no response on querying?)

I really wanted to be who I originally posted as and retain my posting status but after much querying .. it did not seem that this would happen.

I now have two identities here ... one current and one probably much forgotten (even though they lie side by side in the photo gallery).

I wanted to be associated with my original posts ... it just did not happen for me!!

Hmmmm!!!!

Ok - I also apologize for hijacking this thread!

(not that I'm answering for DocJohn..) but on the sign in page, there is a place to click to have a temporary password emailed to the email address you used when you originally registered. You can then go into your own page and read your real password, and keep it or change it.

Let ADMIN know asap which account you want!

The email address I originally registered with no longer existed.

I do not wish to change back to my original account anymore. It is too late now.

I should have left this alone as it really isn't relevant to me anymore. I apologize again.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
