I have an issue with threads that mysteriously disappear, especially if I have posted in them. It makes me wonder if I have written something offensive. I want to know if I did so I can correct it.
This happened earlier in the Psychotherapy Forum. I replied to a thread about therapists, unfitness and trauma. So did I offend the thread starter? Is there a way to let people know why a thread was deleted? |

If the moderators/administrators remove a thread, we'll usually PM the OP* (but not those who replied to it) to explain why it was removed. A thread might be removed because the team has decided it's not within guidelines -- or simply because the OP has asked to have it gone.
If you were ever to write something offensive, we'd take care to explain to you (privately) why we had a problem with it. If we haven't, that's a pretty good indication that you've never written anything offensive. ![]() *Original poster -- the member who started the thread. It would be nice to have a post that states why a thread was removed, without it going into detail. Something like, OP requested it removed or it did not not conform to the guidelines.
It just makes me wonder. |

Didgee, I didn't finish editing my reply till after you'd posted yours. I may have answered your question (or at least started to).

I understand and respect the privacy issue.
It's just frustrating to find out that a noncontroversial thread has vanished. I'll just have to live with it. Thank you for answering my questions FooZe. Last edited by Anonymous32715; Oct 17, 2012 at 01:49 AM. Reason: grammar |
