Why the hell do I get kicked off chat for profanity even though it censors the swear words out? Albeit I'm aware I swear plethora, I think the booting should be nullified especially when it's already censored.. yes, I'm also aware of the warning it gives but still... it always seems to kick me off chat every night due to my frequent swearing habits but that doesn't exculpate me, but it does when it's all getting censored.
Comon' that automated booting is giving me a headache. ![]() |

Yeah, it kept cutting us off for discussing airplane cockpits and the new rules since 9/11 about them being locked. At some point the booting gets really invasive when you're trying to have a decent conversation.

This is a mental health support community. Constant use of profanity is against both our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use. So no, we're not going to change the filter or boot rules, because you're in violation of our rules when you keep doing this.
Since airline cockpits are not a primary topic in mental health, I think one can easily circumvent this word with an alternative, like "pilots cabin." DocJohn

since I've been booted far too many times, I've been quite perceptive in how I process my swears.. So from now, I'll have to use: **** and f8ck. ![]() edit; hmm, even censors out sh(one)t? |

Contrast, I think you are missing the whole point of the cuss filter. In other words, cussing is not appropriate, that's why there are filters. Maybe it's time to learn some new adjectives to express yourself so that you post and chat within the guidelines?

Pilots' cabin is not a valid term for many reasons. Flight deck however is a proper term and totally interchangeable with cockpit.

One thing you must know about me is that my imperturbability is promising unless I wish to become confrontational and argumentative.. ![]() ![]() You should also know that swearing is just one of those foppish habits.. so it's quite hard to simply learn these new adjectives since swearing is on impulse.. who the hell thinks out swears? The "---" removes the churlishness of it in the first place. ![]() |

Contrast,
More than anyone, I understand how easy it is to swear and use profanity. IRL, my mouth could embarrass a sailor or a truck driver. I'm not necessarily proud of that, but I have learned how NOT to use profanity in specific situations such as here at PC, at work, in front of strangers with whom I'm having some kind of contact with. An occasional swear word pops out now and again from people....it's pretty well accepted nowadays, but if you are using profanity so much that the chat program is kicking you from chat, then it's safe to say that you are over using those adjectives (at least on PC). And what it all comes down to in the end is your own personal behavior. It's up to you if you wish to change it or not. As DocJohn stated: Quote:
