OK, my only problem with cookies right now is NOT that I'm not allowed to eat them anymore.
![]() I don't know what setting may or may not be screwed up -- but every time I go to a site (including PC) and sign in, and check yes to the box that says "keep me signed in unless I sign out" -- after leaving the site, the next time I visit, I have to sign in again! It's very frustrating. Suggestions? Another issue that may or may not be related -- I have my notifications here set to email me when I have a PM. It gives a link in the email message to the site. When I click on the link in the email, I have to sign in again. If I come here from my bookmark, I'm already signed in and go straight to the PM! ARGH. Candy |

I have a slightly different problem -- once I'm signed in on a machine, I have difficulty logging out and signing in on another machine (for example, my cell phone). I can click Sign Out but next time I access PC, I'm still signed in. And no matter how many times I try to log in from my cell phone, I can't successfully get signed on.
The only way I've found is to click Sign Out and then immediately close my browser. Sigh.

heres some instructions
tools>internet options from the taskbar in the popup, go to security make sure this is not set to Block all cookies or high, often this will cause issues. I use medium or medium high. secondly, right below the slider click "sites" and add forums.psychcentral.com to the list. make sure you click allow of course. you can do this with any site you need to. thirdly, just to make sure, click advanced, and make sure the override cookie handling box is NOT checked. unless this is something you specifically need, you shouldnt have to bother with this. If it is checked it could be messing things up. try that and let me know how it is. |

My BIL is an IBM computer engineer -- when he has time over the weekend, I'll ask him for ideas too. |

sounds like a good idea, if thats not working its most likely something more complex. and Im no engineer, though I do know my way around I wouldnt want to give any further advice without being there physically. Let me know what it works out to be, will you? |

You have a setting that gives you an option as to when your temporary files are closed... TOOLS/TOOLBOX Internet Options ADVANCED >> Empty temporary files when browser is closed (UNclick)

Sky, I just looked, and that setting wasn't checked in the first place (that is, it was already off).

LOL .... coincidences are fun, aren't they?
I just finished a book by Dr. Andrew Weil called "Spontaneous Healing." And lo and behold, my puter has spontaneously healed itself! LOL I got an email about a PM, clicked on the link in the email to come here, and now, for some reason, it works! Go figure. |
