I can't open chat. I open it and it says it can not display the webpage 'diagnose connection problem'. Although I can access everything else and I'm not having a problem with my internet. I tried rebooting a few times and restarting the browser.

Anyone else having this problem? (I use internet explorer of all horrible things).

Just an update. I was able to get on last night after switching from hotel internet to my mobile hotspot. I didn't think that it was the hotel internet as I could watch Netflix using it. I know some hotels limit chat/movies for bandwith issues, so I switched to my mobile hotspot and chat worked.

Thanks DocJohn and PC support peeps for making this website run and keeping it updated. It is an invaluable support for me.

Is there any chance that your hotel internet connects via satellite? We've known for a few years now, that a satellite connection won't work for chat.

Here's more on chat issues and technical requirements:

What kind of problems, specifically?

Chat is like our web server -- it's either on or off. The past two times it's been off is because our server rebooted and it wasn't in the startup routine for the server (this problem should be fixed now).

If it's a problem with connecting to chat, and they've tried different web browsers, they should PM me privately so I can troubleshoot some of their ISP info.

Thanks,
DocJohn

Just an FYI... the connection problems may not be a psych central problem for people like me who are on the east coast...

if anyone is in the storm affected areas of the east coast internet servers/ providers, cell phone servers /providers are all having connection problems due to the superstorm that hit the east coast this past week.

we are also expecting another storm which could also be affecting internet, land line phones, cell phones, electricity, ....connections.
Thanks for this!
