Hi,
I wondered if any rules or guidelines apply to the thread titles themselves? I wrote in here a few months ago about the ignore feature not applying to titles and understand that (vbulletin feature) but are there any guidelines on what isn't acceptable for them? Within posts and threads there is always the suggestion to use the trigger icon but that doesn't help much if the trigger is in the title. Then the only way to avoid them is hiding the whole forum or forums where the thread appears. Thanks |

The guidelines apply to anything written or typed in the forums or chat -- that includes the titles.
However, since anything could potentially be triggering to someone, it's impossible for us to try and restrict possible triggers in titles. When in doubt, we might ask members to keep this in mind and keep their titles somewhat general. But this would only be a request, not something we could codify and enforce. Best, DocJohn

Thanks, the title that prompted the question was one that gave details of abuse in the title so seemed more likely to trigger members (beyond just a this is triggering to me alone type trigger). Thanks again for the response
I just find titles harder to deal with because I can't just avoid that thread or ignore that user Last edited by Wren_; Dec 04, 2012 at 06:21 PM. |
