Hi there,
I know that I have to have three posts before I'm able to contact someone by PM. Unfortunately, I didn't know this until after I typed up a lengthy PM to a member and tried to send it. My question is that once my initial posts are approved and I have three, will my PM send to the member I tried to send it to? It was not saved in a draft or sent message, so I wondered if perhaps (fingers crossed) that the message board system might save it and send when I'm approved to do so. |

Sorry, an unsuccessful PM doesn't get saved in any way.
About all you can do is write it again. When something like that happens to me, the hardest part of rewriting is keeping track of what I've actually written in the new version, versus what I'm only remembering having said the first time. ![]() |

I didn't know new members couldn't PM. Does that mean new members cannot receive then either? Welcome FrightenedRabbit.

Well, I know new members can receive open messages on their pages, even while they're still registering, but I haven't tried posting any private messages......Good question!

Boo!!! I wrote like a novel to the individual! Ah well, I guess I can try it again.
In any case, the message I received was that until I have three posts, I could only send messages to certain people - I believe the moderators and admins of the site. Makes sense. Just wish that I'd known about it prior to attempting to send it. Also, thanks for the welcome folks! |

Sorry you lost your PM, Rabbit. Occasionally, when something like that happens, I've been able to get a post or PM back by using the Back button on my browser. It's far from a sure thing and depends a lot on the browser. Sometimes all I get is the blank form to type the post or PM into but at least once, I've gotten my text back by going into the form, right-clicking, and choosing Undo. One time I lost everything to a power outage, but an hour later when the power came back, Firefox gave me everything back, apparently from its cache.
![]() I've lost enough posts (especially to older browsers) that whenever I'm working on something long, I periodically save it to a text file in something like Windows Notepad. As far as I know, members with fewer than 3 posts can receive PMs from anyone. They just can't send them to anyone but the Community Support Team. |

Nope. Hit the back button immediately. No go.
No worries...I managed to put together another response and explained to the individual what happened in case I referred to some things that I said in the first attempt. |
